In response to feedback from individuals, we are now offering special flat-rate pricing for personal mentoring. Unlike the mentoring we provide for teams of developers, personal mentoring is not billed by the hour.
Instead, you pay a single, flat-rate for one month of mentoring -- no matter how much feedback on commits or development advice you end up needing during that month
The first month is $1000 USD. If you choose to continue past the first month, each new month will be $100 less than the previous month, through the sixth month. After the sixth month, each month is $500. You can continue to receive mentoring for as long as you need (or until we stop offering personal mentoring, which ever comes first).
Personal mentoring is purchased up front and is non-refundable. At the end of the month, you will be given the option to continue at the reduced rate; you can opt not to continue at any time. I send out invoices via PayPal.
I've trained many individuals over the years and have good "numbers" on how much time, on average, a developer requires when learning SproutCore. With a few dozen people being mentored in any given month, the average works out and everyone wins.
If it turns out that my numbers are substantially wrong, we will alter the rates for new developers, or even cancel the program altogether. If a particular developer "abuses" this program, we may not offer a renewal for the next month.
Person mentoring is the exact same feedback and advice we give to corporate clients (we do not distinguish between the two as far as help is concerned).
The only exceptions are SproutCore bug fixes, which are done on an as-available basis. We bill corporate clients by the hour for SproutCore work, and each fix is approved separately. Personal mentoring clients are flat-rate and SproutCore bug fixes are not included.
(We will still do our best to fix SproutCore bugs when we can, but as a simple matter of available man hours, we can't promise anything.)
Personal mentoring is for individual, independent developers. If you do SproutCore work for yourself, you qualify. If you are employed by a company you don't own for your SproutCore work, you won't qualify for personal mentoring, but do qualify for our normal mentoring program.
I only mentor individuals that have already taken my SproutCore training class. If you haven't taken it and need to start right away, you can purchase a copy of the full training video and get started right away.
